A new air conditioner installation is a big investment for your Sacramento, CA, home. As you prepare to choose a new air conditioning system, you'll have a lot of options and features to consider. Keep these five attributes in mind when you make your choice for a new AC installation.

Type

There are two types of air conditioning systems. A split system has an indoor air handler and evaporator and an outdoor condenser and compressor. A packaged system contains all parts in one outdoor unit.

Zoning

You may want to upgrade to a central air conditioning system that allows you to set up zoned climate control. A traditional air conditioner has one zone with one thermostat. With a mini-split system, you can have up to four zones in your home. Each zone has its own thermostat, allowing you to set each of them to a different temperature.

Ducts

If you're building a new home, adding onto your home or doing some remodeling, you might want a ductless air conditioning system. They don't require air ducts to deliver the cooled air. These systems reduce wasted energy and lower your monthly cooling costs.

Energy Efficiency

Replacing an old air conditioner with a high-efficiency system could lower your cooling costs by up to 50 percent. A high-efficiency system will also lower your home's carbon footprint. A high-efficiency system may cost more upfront, but the energy savings makes up the difference in just a few years.

Variable-Speed Motor

Consider a variable-speed motor and compressor for your AC installation. They operate at the highest speed only when necessary, which lowers energy use. When they cycle at the lowest speed, they're quiet. They also remove more humidity from the air and completely filter your home's air in about seven minutes.

Your choice for a new air conditioning system makes a big impact on your comfort and enjoyment of your home. It also impacts your utility bills. When you're ready for an AC installation, contact Jaguar Heating & Air for more information.
